2nd Shift Customer Liaison

Ryder provides leading-edge transportation, logistics, and supply chain management solutions worldwide. Ryder’s Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) business segment enables customers to improve shareholder value and their customers’ satisfaction by enhancing supply chain performance and reducing costs. The solutions involve management of the logistics pipeline as a synchronized, integrated process – from raw material supply to finished goods distribution. Ryder offers comprehensive supply chain solutions, consulting, lead logistics management services and e-Business solutions that support customers’ entire supply chains.

Support Ryder Logistics Engineering (LE) and Ryder Logistics Management (LM) to develop and maintain plant inbound material flow network. The 2nd Shift Customer Liaison will be responsible for the following:
* Identify cost reduction opportunities in conjunction with LE and LM teams
* Assist LE and LM team in obtaining plant sign-offs for carrier selections
* Attend implementation calls to ensure plant specific needs are communicated to all parties and that all plant expectations are understood prior to launch
* Communicate all decreases in transportation spend through the Visteon savings process with the plant LM
* Facilitate carrier and supplier awareness training for new inbound suppliers
* Manage plant transportation operations
* Manage routes as necessary (coordinate with Ryder OMC and LE of all route adds/cancels, etc. as necessary)
* Inform plant of all routing changes to inbound network
* Work with suppliers to facilitate adds/cancels and manage supplier compliance regarding carrier routings and window compliance
* Ensure suppliers understand shipment deviation and exception processes
* Track/trace shipments for critical parts as determined by plant MP&L
* Ensure communication to dock of returnable packaging shipping plan
* Approve and communicate holiday and downtime inbound schedules with Ryder OMC operations
* Communicate adds/cancels, holiday and downtime schedule changes to carrier (for non-Ryder OMC managed routes) and supply base
* Conduct load audits and communicate results to Ryder LE team for continued network optimization.
* Ensure trailer cube utilization is both optimal and effective to support plant production needs (manage program to find over cube routes, under cube routes, etc.)
* Assist in resolving carrier, plant and supplier disputes
* Ensure all parties understand yard tool management process
* Train all key personnel on yard tool operation
* Monitor and update yard tool as necessary
* Notify necessary parties of detention issues, etc. regarding on-site trailer inventories
* Ensure Normal Freight Payment

Education/Experience/Skills/Required Qualifications:

Associates degree or equivalent experience is required with a preference to have a Bachelors degree. One to five years experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse or industry related field is required. Must possess excellent written, verbal, organizational and leadership skills. Proficiency in MS Office is necessary.
