Basic Function:
Principal advisor to the CFO regarding accounting matters. Responsible for interpreting and implementing all applicable generally accepted accounting principles issued by FASB, SEC, other regulatory and advisory organizations in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the Banking industry for Public Companies. Responsible for internal financial statement and report preparation. Responsible for financial statement and report preparation for regulatory bodies; FDIC, Federal Reserve, SEC, and all other required reporting. Responsible for supervision, development, and control of assigned accounting staff.

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Duties & Responsibilities:
(Below are examples of the types of duties for this position. The list is not intended to be inclusive or exclusive of all duties and responsibilities assigned to the classification.)Develop, organize, implement, and direct the organization’s accounting function.On an ongoing basis, be thoroughly familiar with the technical accounting literature and current accounting issues facing the Banking industry.Prepare Board and Management Financial reports.Prepare 10Q and 10K and other SEC filings for CFO review.Streamline and automate workflow and reports from core and ancillary systems related to all accounting areas.Analyze accounting and tax impact of potential transactions at the Bank or Holding company level.Evaluate accounting personnel and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.Assist CFO on all tasks assigned or requested.Other Duties as Assigned.
Accountability
This person is responsible for proactively assisting the CFO in all accounting related functions. This person is responsible for preparing financial reports and developing systems to ensure reliability and accuracy of financial information. This person must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of: GAAP, Financial calculations, bank financial and operational procedures and principles, banking regulations, computer operations and applications.
Ability to: prepare reports, analyze complex transactions; work independently and analyze detailed information, communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
REQUIREMENTS
Desired Experience:CPA preferred with 5 to 10 years of Bank Accounting decision making experience in banks over $500 million in asset size.SEC Reporting Experience.Bachelors degree required (prefer emphasis in Accounting).Bank audit firm or Bank experience.FDICIA and SOX 404 experience would be a plus.Leadership of accounting staff.Strong interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Skilled in the use of microcomputers, especially Excel expertise, Word, and other products utilized such as Jack Henry’s Silverlake and ProfitStars, etc.

Environmental/Physical/Mental Requirements
The position usually is located in an office setting. The major portion of the duties requires an incumbent to communicate verbally with co-workers and vendors and external contacts including regulatory representatives. The employee spends a good deal of the day seated at a work station, but will, from time to time, visit other departments, reviewing processes and procedures and observing their operations. The incumbent interfaces with other related departments and various office equipment. The individual must possess the ability to accurately read and interpret data. The employee must be able to verbally and in written form communicate with clarity, while understanding and explaining complex information.
