Value Verification Specialist

This individual is responsible for monthly reconciliation of import value reported to Customs by brokers compared to internal PPG payment records in multiple systems. The position will be responsible for operating, maintaining and updating the Customs Value Verification System. This system insures that the value declared on US Customs entries is supported through to the ultimate payment to the supplier. This involves auditing, researching and correcting entries after determining root causes of discrepancies. This position will deal with both external supplier payments and internal payments to other PPG facilities. Reconciliation of errors requires interaction with accounting and other plant personnel in a monthly ongoing process.High school degree or equivalent is required. Several years of accounting experience is preferred. This position also requires good organizational skills, the ability to set priorities, a faculty for numerical detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Must have knowledge of, Glass, C&R, and Chemicals business systems. Must be able to communicate effectively with G.O. and business unit personnel. Excellent PC skills with a concentration on MS Access and familiarity with on-line computer applications is also required. Pre-employment clerical testing is required. Only candidates from Pittsburgh and surrounding areas will be considered. Minimum salary is $33,000.
