Vice President, Internal Audit
Essential Job Function:
This position assists the Executive Vice President of Internal Audit, and works with the auditors/investigators, in the administration of a comprehensive program of fraud investigation coverage, and litigation prevention, for the company. Directs the activities of the staff auditors/investigators. Hires, trains, develops, supervises staff and evaluates staff performance. Works in a cross-functional setting with other corporate officers to accomplish business objectives. At the discretion of the Executive Vice President, Internal Audit, may participate in tactical planning for accounting and audit standards for new lines of business, and new ventures.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the Investigation / the review of audit cases. Assign cases to subordinates.
Oversee / direct workflow of department.
Prepare and review audit reports for management.
Ensure all proper parties are pursued in fraud case for recovery of losses to the company.
Conduct entrance / exit meetings for applicable audit cases.
Preferred Skills/Education:
High School Diploma, or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Management, Economics, Computer Science, or related subject, required. MBA or CPA, preferred.
Knowledge of the laws regulating the Mortgage Banking and Financial Services industries.
Working knowledge of mortgage loan data processing operations, programming and applications.
Knowledge of current computer software as Microsoft Word, AS/400 Query, Microsoft Access, Excel, and programming skills in current software platforms such as Windows, required.
Effective interpersonal communication skills.
CIA designation preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible operations experience in mortgage banking, financial industry, public accounting, or internal audit.
Minimum of 3 years of increasingly responsible managerial experience with professional staff groups.
