VP Director of Accounting and Finance-Insurance Industry

Finance group is seeking a professional who will be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting, on both a statutory and GAAP basis. In addition, you will work with the various shared service groups and divisions to provide financial information and accounting expertise. This Finance group also works to maintain over $6 billion of outstanding long and short term debt.

In this key role, you will responsible for overseeing the preparation of both statutory and GAAP financial statements, preparation of reporting package, internal reporting inclusive of board reports, develop comprehensive reports for financial analysis of expenses, and oversee bank activities. You will also have oversight of the monthly close process, journal entry postings, account reconciliations and the maintenance of the fixed asset ledger. Special projects and reports will be required as needed. You will be the key contact for external auditors. Six Senior Financial Analysts will report to you to assist in completing the department’s goals and objectives.
Analyze the segment’s Statutory and GAAP financial statement components including variances to prior periods and plan, and compose the segment’s quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis for Senior Management.
Meet with Senior Management to review quarterly and annual results.
Collaborate with third-party administrators, actuaries and other groups dedicated to accounting and analysis.
Direct legal entity reporting, statutory filings and stand-alone
GAAP financial statements, including internal and external audits.

CPA or MBA a plus.
