VP, Central Hedging Unit

Responsibilities: Manage the Central Hedging Unit responsible for the accounting and controls over hedging activities in HSBC North America;
Coordinate the FAS # 133 accounting process, including documentation and effectiveness testing;
Provide advisory role to business on hedge-related activities;
Coordinate FAS # 133 accounting for inter-company hedges via other Group members;
Coordinate automation projects to streamline the hedge testing and counting processes.

Requirements:
Minimum of seven (7) years experience with fixed income products;

BS in Finance/Accounting with MBA or CPA or CFA preferred;

Excellent interest rate derivative and mathematical skills. Knowledge of statistical testing for analyzing cash flow and fair value relationships;

Strong controls skill-set with an understanding of operational issues of fixed income products;

Strong working knowledge of US accounting standards, especially with hedge accounting rules under FAS # 133;

Strong management and team building skills;
