The Transaction Services Accounting Advisory Group has opportunities in San Francisco and San Jose for a New Manager.The Accounting Advisory Group advises corporate and private equity clients on a broad range of strategies used to execute transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, alliances, IPOs, outsourcing, licensing, minority investments and specialty financing structures such as leasing, derivatives and securitizations. In addition, the Accounting Advisory Group has a unique, in-depth understanding of how market perceptions, valuation concepts, legal and regulatory constraints and income taxes inter-relate with accounting and financial reporting concerns.This Group's unique skill set also allows it to provide support for the financial statement audit by way of quality control review of the transaction structure and its documentation, as well as early notice and expedited resolution of potential issues. Further, the Group serves as a trusted advisor to many non-audit clients by working closely with management and its auditors to ensure that the accounting and financial reporting aspects of any complex transaction have been appropriately addressed.The Accounting Advisory Group places enormous emphasis on staying current on the latest structures and new and proposed accounting rules through extensive training and partner and national office interaction.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
BS/B.A. in Accounting required;
CPA required;
MB.A. a plus.Essential Requirements:
5-6+ years of prior experience in auditing and accounting and/or a combination with industry experience; Big 4 or regional public accounting firm experience is a must. Solid technical skills, working knowledge of US GAAP (US or international) and SEC requirements. Good business sense, ability to analyze complex transactions and identify key issues that are important to reach sound conclusions. Solid communication skills, including the ability to simplify technical concepts for non-accountant client personnel. Thorough and creative approaches to problem solving and on the job learning ability.
