Role and responsibilities:
Initial Role - Become a senior member of the Advisory Consultations team within the Independence Office Policy & Consulting Group
Become embedded in the Independence Office Policy & Consulting Group to gain an in-depth understanding of independence rules that apply to the Advisory line of service. This will include the SEC, AICPA, and GAO regulations, together with PwC's Global and US Independence Policies and other territory specific regulations.
Provide/develop guidance to Advisory for scope-of-service independence issues, including participation in development of Global SOPS and/or US-specific guidance.
Develop responses to independence inquiries received, including contributing to and overseeing team members' performance of preliminary and follow-up research of the appropriate regulations, analysis, internal consultation, obtaining review/approval of proposed conclusions, creating and refining written responses, ongoing e-mail and or telephonic communications with audit and/or engagement teams to solicit greater detail.
Document consultation details and conclusions in the Independence Consulting Database, Call Center database, or in personal files.
Participate in consultations with regulators on resolution of specific matters.
To develop the in-depth technical knowledge required to participate and lead subject matter expert reviews of policy and training materials.
Assist in broadening the understanding within the Independence Office of the Advisory line of service.
To participate in various special projects on an as-needed basis.
Oversight and development of the junior members of the team
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
BS/B.A. (CPA a plus)Essential Requirements:
8+ years work experience; either Client Service or internal firm services (IFS) management position with a strong knowledge of the Advisory practice Ability to develop strong relationships and team with all levels of leadership and staff, both client service and IFS, influencing as required to accomplish objectives Ability to oversee the development and implementation of multiple programs and initiatives balancing resources across all projects Ability to anticipate future needs of the organization/unit and to take action to meet these needs Strong decision making, project management, , problem resolution, presentation and communications skills. Management/supervisory experience Ability to impact Firm and Line of Service initiatives from a risk and quality vantage point Well versed in Microsoft Applications Prior knowledge of the SEC and AICPA Independence regulations is a plus, but is not essential.
