Our U.S. Tax practice in Bermuda provides both tax compliance and consulting services for investment/hedge funds, insurance companies and U.S. citizens. Although Bermuda is a tax-free jurisdiction, many of our clients are offshore businesses with operations in numerous countries around the world. Tax advice is a critical part of their business requirements. We work closely with Ernst & Young’s Tax groups around the world and our close ties to our U.S. Tax Services group enable us to provide an extensive range of U.S. tax advice to our diverse clients. We currently have a career opportunity for a Tax Senior, based out of Bermuda, to assist in our growing U.S. tax practice.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review U.S. tax returns for insurance companies, investment/hedge funds, and U.S. individuals. Provide both tax compliance and consulting expertise. Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with timely and responsive services. Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Assist in the development of Ernst & Young’s Bermuda tax practice through business development, sales, and marketing activities such as articles and presentations.Ernst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify, candidates must have: internationally recognized accounting designation such as the U.S. CPA or Canadian CA (candidates who have passed exams and have partially completed the required practical experience will also be considered) at least 2 years' experience in corporate, partnership, individual and/or trust tax; experience in insurance, investment, or general international tax areas is preferred, but not required excellent oral and written communication skills a dedication to teamwork, leadership, and integrity within a professional environment proficiency in Word, Excel, GoSystems Ernst & Young Bermuda comprises a modern practice of almost 200 staff.
