Tax Senior Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:
Position will generally be responsible for assisting with federal and state tax issues, including preparing tax work papers & return preparation, tax provisions, forecasting, researching and other areas of tax compliance for all Trustreet entities (includes C Corporations, Partnerships, LLCs). Although not the primary responsibility, the position should have a desire to do tax research and an ability to analyze and develop a conclusion from the research.
REQUIREMENTS
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ø 70% Federal and state income tax compliance for all flow-through entities, corporations and the REIT, including work paper preparation and tax return preparation.

Ø 10% Assist with and monitor fixed assets information.

Ø 10% special projects, including responding to notices.

Ø 10% Occasional tax issues research.

Ø Tax return processing and filing

Ø Preparing check requests

Ø Assist with physical file maintenance

Ø Assist with Tax return Tracking



CORE COMPETENCIES:
Ø Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ø Must possess basic computer skills.

Ø Must be able to perform a variety of duties and multi-task.

Ø Must have 1 to 2 years of experience in accounting or preparing tax returns and tax work papers (Large corporation tax experience a plus, but not required)

Ø Basic knowledge of Federal Tax with some researching / memo writing experience

Ø Working knowledge and experience in Book/GAAP accounting

Ø Accounting degree / tax background

Ø Requires strong analytical skills

Ø Requires good organization skills

Ø Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility.

Ø Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team is a must
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:
Ø Undergraduate degree in accounting. MBA or Masters in Tax preferred but not required.

Ø 3-5 years of tax experience. Large corporation tax and/or flow-through entity experience preferred.

Ø CPA preferred, but not required.
