Tax Research Manager

An international hospitality group with over 3,000 hotels worldwide seeks anexperienced TAX RESEARCH MANAGER.Under the guidance of the Vice President and General Tax Counsel for the AmericasRegion and the Attorney responsible for Tax Research and Planning, responsible forproviding research and recommendations to identify and implement tax planning ideas,which minimize the Company's tax liability. Manage assigned federal, state, and/orinternational tax planning projects, and provide tax advice to support transactions andprojects initiated by business teams.Job Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's in Taxation, or a similar combination of education andexperience; CPA designation preferred. Master's in Tax or JD designation stronglypreferred, with education at this level directly substituting for years of experience.6 to 8 years progressive work-related experience in a public accounting firm orequivalent in industry.
Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executinglarge-scale projects from conception through implementation, including the ability toplan, delegate work and manage a tax project within deadlines and budgets.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose ofproviding information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.
Strong knowledge of federal, state and international income tax laws and regulations.Demonstrated knowledge of financial accounting principles and concepts.Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with Excel, Word, and computerized taxand legal research software such as CCH and LEXIS.
Demonstrated legal training/experience or familiarity of legal concepts and terms.Demonstrated ability to use best practices in order to minimize tax liability for acorporation.
Demonstrated effective tax planning and research skills.Demonstrated knowledge of tax accounting and preparation of financial statements onUS, foreign, local and UK GAAP and IFRS basis.
