Job Description:
The Tax Processing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, tracking, validating and assembling tax returns and engagement-related tasks within an Ernst & Young office, department or Area. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to coordinating and monitoring the overall production, productivity and quality aspects of the firm’s Tax Support Services group to ensure that established deadlines are met. In addition, the Tax Processing Coordinator will support the Partner of the Firm group with administrative duties. Responsibilities Effectively monitor and coordinate overall production and productivity within a department/office or Area, (including workload peaks and valleys); assign, delegate and prioritize work as appropriate. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the tax return process (e.g., IRS due dates, various tax forms). Oversee and may review work of other Assemblers for completeness and accuracy; update and monitor the electronic assembly log to ensure delivery deadlines are met and to monitor production volumes. Provide work direction and train new staff and/or temporary/seasonal staff on tax processing procedures and knowledge. Work with internal clients to ensure completeness and accuracy of tax products. Work with firm-standard technology, technical equipment and other relevant practice or engagement-specific software applications. Access firm knowledge and other relevant business information tools and knowledge databases. Demonstrate proficient use of specialty software or engagement/practice-specific tools and applications. Utilize key internal contacts to answer questions, resolve issues and provide quality services. Act as a knowledge resource and actively participate on a National Area Knowledge Team; coordinate the implementation of new National or Area tax processing initiatives to improve processes in your own Area or office.Ernst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify, candidates must have: a high school diploma some college education or equivalent experience preferred approximately 3-5 years of related experience; tax-related experience a plus strong leadership, organizational and administrative skills This professional must be available for overtime, as needed, and must have an excellent attendance and punctuality record.
