PricewaterhouseCoopers is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Industry Services Group (ISG) practice in San Jose, California. This position involves advising primarily U.S. technology-based companies on the tax implications of their domestic and international operations in order to obtain an optimal tax minimization strategy. Candidates will have the opportunity to work extensively and network with technology clients and to coordinate the Firm's various technical resources. Candidates will also be responsible for providing industry knowledge and technical expertise to our clients.
Some recent special projects included accounting method studies, restructuring and refinancing, IRS controversy resolution, effective tax rate planning and state tax rate planning. Tax managers also have the chance to develop their skills in managing and mentoring staff. The position is a mix of approximately 70% consulting and 30% compliance and review: managers in this group also work very closely with other practices within the office.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
BA/B.S. in Accounting; MST preferred.Essential Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a CPA and will have a strong technical tax background, especially in FAS 109 compliance. Experience in corporate
tax research, consulting and compliance in a professional services is required. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to identify tax
consulting opportunities and a willingness to aggressively market services to existing and prospective clients. Client service orientation combined
with creative problem solving skills and strong written and oral communication skills are necessary. Individuals should also posses the ability to
manage, develop and retain a team of tax professionals. CPA required as well as strong written and oral communications skills.
