PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP is seeking a Tax Manager to join the San Francisco Tax Practice to work on Research and Development ("R&D") tax projects.Our National R&D Team is part of the Tax Projects Delivery Group ("TPDG"). TPDG is a national team of approximately 350 tax professionals engaged in selling, implementing and delivering high value tax planning ideas to Fortune 1000 and other companies. TPDG Managers help the team implement large, leveraged tax projects and play an integral role in applying standardized methodologies to specific client circumstances as part of a project team. They are responsible for the day-to-day management of large projects as well as the training and development of staff.Managers help to coordinate proposals and are also responsible for increasing market penetration. Strong organizational, project management and writing skills are required, along with proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Application of tax knowledge, TPDG tools and methodologies to specific client situations
Working closely with Partners and Sales and Business Development executives to develop proposal opportunities
Interfacing with client personnel to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget
Clear communication and management of work plan and project objectives to project team and client personnel
Training all staff on TPDG tools and methodologies as well as tax technical information
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
Minimum B.S. / B.A. degree; CPA required or if not CPA must be a member of the Bar.Essential Requirements:
Flexibility to travel up to 33%; some prior R&D credit work experience. Minimum 4 years of previous client service work experience, Big 4 preferred. Project management and supervisory experience required.
