Responsibilities for this role include the following:





The Tax Manager I is responsible for managing a team of five Tax Associates. The candidate would be responsible for personnel matters within their team including providing feedback throughout the year, evaluations, and compensation recommendations. This person is responsible for staff training and attainment of all production standards (including tax season performance) for their team. The Tax Manager I will also be responsible for all tasks related to the preparation, review, and filing of Fiduciary and Individual income tax returns. This candidate will also be responsible for preparation and review of Form 1099 and Custody/Investment Advisory tax letters. This candidate may assist in the preparation and review of Charitable Tax returns including Forms 1041A/5227 and 990/990-PF. The position involves contact with a broad range of internal and external clients including Attorneys, IRS Agents, Trust Advisors, and Investment Specialists on a routine basis. The candidate will also conduct special projects as requested. As a member of the Tax Division this person must be able to work nights and Saturdays during tax season.
REQUIREMENTS


Bachelors degree required; preferably in Accounting or Finance

CPA/MST/MBA highly desireable

Prior experience in income and/or fiduciary income tax environment is required

Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities

Prior management experience is required

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, tax planning/tax research/tax preparation software is required

Strong communication skills - verbal and written

Proven ability to work in a team environment while maintaining individual priorities

Candidate must be able to work nights and Saturdays during tax season
