Job Description:

We are seeking a Tax Compliance Manager to join our team located in Houston, Texas.


What you will be doing:

You will share responsibility for federal and state income tax compliance and tax related financial reporting requirements for AIG American General insurance companies, consisting of 12 insurance companies and their supporting companies. You will also assist the V.P. of tax on various research and planning issues and projects. This is a hands on position that requires an in depth knowledge of life insurance taxation and financial reporting requirements, with a high degree of organization skill. Key areas of responsibility will be in Federal compliance, GAAP and Statutory financial reporting (tax).


What we require:

? 4+ years of experience with the federal taxation of life insurance companies.
? 2+ years of experience with a public accounting firm.
? CPA designation
? Strong life insurance taxation return, SFAS 109 and SSAP 10 experience required.
? Tax research abilities.
? Experience with Corptax software preferred, but not required.
? Experience in a major life insurance company tax department preferred.
? Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and process improvement skills required.
? Past experience instructing tax related training preferred.
