Tax Associate/Senior Associate

We are currently seeking a Tax Associate/Senior Associate to join our San Antonio office.
KPMG's Federal Tax Services Practice is a resource for clients that need help complying with the latest IRS rules and regulations. Our tax professionals who handle federal tax issues bring the experience and commitment necessary to deliver tax compliance and advisory services to help meet our clients' specific needs.Responsibilities for both positions:

Deliver timely and quality services to clients that meet or exceed the expectations of the client and team Manager

Understand and assist as needed with budgeting, billing and collection processes

Audit basic to complex tax provisions

Perform thorough review of working papers to help ensure conclusions have been supported and firm policies have been met

Execute various aspects of compliance with moderate to minimum direction from management

Build awareness of opportunities to market services to existing clients and convey those opportunities to supervisor's attention

Recognize, research and recommend resolutions of moderate to complex tax issues with little or no supervision

Develop and support risk assessments and help implement appropriate tax procedures

Prepare budgets for less complex engagements

Develop strong relationship with client employees and managementAdditional Responsibilities for Senior Associate:

Support Tax Managers and Partners in day-to-day management of client portfolio

Take responsibility for overall engagement planning and job administration

Keep management informed on progress of engagement and client relationship issues needing attention

Responsible for defined elements of engagements of increasing complexityQualifications for both positions:

Undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university

Applied working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting procedures, C-Corp tax regulations and FAS-109

Exceptional skills in reviewing 1120, 1120S, and 1065 tax returns

Ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilitiesAdditional Qualifications for Associate:

One year of current and/or recent tax experienceAdditional Qualifications for Senior Associate:

Two years of current and/or recent tax experience
