The Transaction Services Accounting Advisory group is seeking a Sr. Manager/Director who will provide accounting advisory services to corporate and private equity firms. Advice involves a broad range of transactions used to execute commercial strategies and objectives, such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, alliances, IPO's, outsourcing, licensing, minority investments and specialty financing structures like lease financing and securitizations. Structuring provides real-time, expedited advice to clients on potential accounting and financial reporting impact of client negotiation decisions.Accounting Advisory also provides support for the financial statement audit by supplying a quality control review of the transaction structure and documentation; early notice and expedited resolution of any potential accounting issues; and an in-depth understanding of how market perceptions, valuation concepts, legal and requlatory constraints and income taxes inter-relate with accounting and financial reporting concerns.The Accounting Advisory group stays up to speed on the latest structures and new and proposed accounting rules through extensive training, both through meetings and on-the-job.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
BS/B.A. in Accounting required;
MB.A. a plus;
CPA, preferred.Essential Requirements:
8 -10 years of prior experience in auditing and accounting and/or a combination with industry experience;
Large public accounting firm experience is a plus, as is national office exposure;
Solid technical skills, detailed working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC requirements, particularly in areas such as business combinations, securitizations, leasing, derivatives or FIN 46;
Good business sense, with the ability to analyze complex transactions and identify key elements and issues that are important to reach sound conclusions;
Creative approach to problem solving;
Solid communication skills, including the ability to share technical concepts in a manner understandable to lay people and to staff.
