The Transaction Services Accounting Advisory group has opportunities in New York City, San Francisco and London for Senior Associates who will provide accounting advisory services to corporate and private equity firms. Provide accounting and valuation advice to corporate and private equity firms, on a broad range of transactions used to execute commercial strategies. Experience mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, alliances, IPO's, outsourcing, licensing, minority investments and specialty financing structures like lease financing and securitizations. Provide real-time advice on accounting and financial reporting impact of client negotiations.Provide support for the financial statement audit by supplying a quality control review of the transaction structure and documentation; early notice and expedited resolution of any potential issues; and an in-depth understanding of how market perceptions, valuation concepts, legal and requlatory constraints and income taxes inter-relate with accounting and financial reporting concerns.
Stay current on the latest structures and new and proposed accounting rules through extensive training and partner and national office interaction.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
BS/B.A. in Accounting required;
CPA or pursuing CPA required;
MB.A. a plus;Essential Requirements:
3 - 5 years of prior experience in auditing and accounting and/or a combination with industry experience; Large public accounting firm experience is a plus, as is national office exposure;
CPA credentials/aspiration required for accountants; One or more of several credentials (CPA, CFA, MBA, ASA) required for valuation professionals; MBA credential a plus;
Solid technical skills, working knowledge of US GAAP (US or international) and SEC requirements;
Good business sense, combined with the ability to analyze complex transactions and identify key elements and issues that are important to reach sound conclusions;
Creative approach to problem solving;
Solid communication skills, including the ability to simplify technical concepts for lay people and for younger colleagues;
Thorough, creative approaches to problem solving and on the job learning.
