POSITION TITLE: System Specialist

LOCATION: Will be based out of Houston, Texas

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist in the implementation of accounting systems and train users on proper use. Provide support as a “user representative” on new development as well as enhancements to existing systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Will need to have a thorough knowledge of the Company’s accounting policies, procedures and practices at all levels – field offices, accounting centers and accounting departments.

*Coordinate with Corporate IT Department to develop software applications for area office accounting and administrative functions to automate and improve the efficiency of the organization.

*Develop procedural solutions for area office accounting ad administrative functions in order to maximize the benefit of software applications.

*Explore and evaluate new software products created for our industry when required or requested by field operations.

*Assist in development of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) program. Coordinate with IT Department, outside contractor, customers and local field personnel to facilitate the exchange of information through EDI.

*Coordinate rollout of new applications to field locations.

*Coordinate the training of all personnel in new applications and train users as needed. This includes teaching and directing other personnel who are also training users.

*Train users on the proper use of hardware and general software packages.

*Provide ongoing guidance and help solve system failures.

*Perform administrative duties at the direction of the Controller.

*Prepare and maintain a system of accounting for time and expenses incurred during project development.

*Report to the Controller the progress of projects, noting any obstacles or other situations which adversely affect the planned progress of projects.

*Performs the primary thinking called for and encompassed by the overall Position Definition.

*Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the immediate supervisor.

*Adheres to Company policies and work requirements.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The position reports to the Controller and must maintain a sound working relationship with all levels of management and staff. The position requires frequent contact with field management and clerical personnel. Close coordination and cooperation is necessary with Corporate IT Department.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
*Accounting or Business degree with 2 – 5 years experience within the industry.

*A working knowledge of PC hardware, networking and relational database applications.

*Knowledge of the equipment, materials and terminology associated with the oilfield environment.

*Knowledge of and ability to use Work Planning and Review, Position Definition, and Performance Review System.

PLEASE NOTE:
*This position requires 45% domestic travel.

D. Satisfactorily pass the background screen
