REQUIREMENTS
Requirements: BS in Computer Science or related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 5+ Years IT experience, with 3 years DBA experience managing and administrating large databases, preferably with Sybase and MS SQL. Experience implementing and supporting Replication server. Solid Unix ksh and / or perl skills. Familiarity with 3rd party debugging, tuning, and management tools. Familiarity with CVS or other source code control systems. Experience working in a TIBCO system environment. Experience implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for mission critical databases. Duties: Qualified candidate will be a member of the IT Infrastructure team, responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining our client’s Sybase and MS SQL databases that support our real-time trading applications. Work with developers and Unix engineers to create and support database structures based upon development, test, and production environment requirements. Provide on-call support for databases 7 x 24 to include being able to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database problems in a timely manner. Manage database backup and recovery activities. Install and maintain ASE and Repserver for production databases. SQL development. Create Unix shell and / or Perl scripts as needed. Implement and support tools for proactive monitoring of databases for our Network Operations Team.
