State and Local Tax Manager

We are currently seeking a Tax Manager to join us in our Atlanta office.KPMG’s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice needs more members for their Sales and Transaction Tax team. KPMG's SALT practice assists clients as they work to reduce their tax liabilities and enhance the bottom line. As a national practice, SALT is committed to bringing some of the best professionals to each engagement and providing dynamic tax services to clients. Our Sales and Transaction Tax practice assists organizations as they work to align their business structure with appropriate tax provisions and manage their sales and gross receipts tax liabilities.
Responsibilities:

Assist SALT professionals with tax planning, refund analysis, nexus review and contractual registrations

Supervise, mentor and develop staff members

Assist with the business development, management and delivery of SALT services

Maintain high levels of staff utilization

Provide assistance and oversight on large client project engagements
Qualifications:

Five years of experience in providing sales and transactions tax research and technical advice on multi-state issues

Strong knowledge of the development, planning and execution of sales and transactions tax refund claims

Experience with various other corporate taxes and their impact on sales tax

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or a related field of study from an accredited college/university
