State Auditor II

This position is located in Topeka.

This position will perform internal audits, both compliance and performance, in accordance with "Yellow Book" standards. Includes preliminary review work, development of audit programs, preparing workpaper files, and drafting audit reports. May work in teams with other State Auditor II's. Work on special projects as assigned. Travel is estimated to be about 10-15% (all in state).
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements: THREE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN EXAMINING INTERNAL WORK PROCESSES, FINANCIAL AND OPERATIONAL RECORDS AND CONTROLS TO ASSESS EFFECTIVENESS, ACCURACY OF RECORDS AND COMPLIANCE WITH STATUES, REGULATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL/LEGAL STANDARDS. EDUCATION IN ACCOUNTING/AUDITING, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, OR ECONOMICS MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR EXPERIENCE AS DETERMINED RELEVANT BY THE AGENCY.


Preferred Requirements:

Internal audit experience in government or private sectorExperience in evaluating internal controls and performing risk analysisExperience in developing written detailed audit programsExperience in developing audit findings and formulating written recommendations for corrective action
