Staff / Senior / Supervisor Accountants

Responsibilities:
Staff:
Primary functions would include more complex account analysis, responsibility for all month end closing entries, responsibility for major functional areas within Accounting. Along with analysis and preparation responsibilities, includes "lead" responsibilities over other accountants in the dept. Liaison with various functions areas on projects and accounting/reporting issues.
Senior:
Responsible for internal financial statement reporting and analysis. Assist with research associated with new structure and/or reporting requests. Manage process improvement initiatives as project manager, assist business owners with automating manual processes inclusive of design, development, testing, implementation and training. Serve as liaison with IT support on new and existing web/SQL-based applications.
Supervisor:
Supervises General Accounting Specialists, Accountant I’s and II’s.
Responsible for Specific Financial Statement Sections and Associated Processes inclusive of Subsystem Process Flows and Controls, Month-End Closing Process, Reconciliation and Review.
Balances and reconciles advanced accounts; makes adjusting, correcting, opening, and closing entries.
Prepares advanced general and statistical entries.
Regularly reviews entries to the general and statistical ledgers to assure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures.
Monitors established internal controls to assure proper compliance. Recommends and implements techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art technology.
Assists with planning and implementing changes in the accounting system.
Provides and resolves coordination within area of responsibility and coordination of assigned area with those of other Company or Corporate units.
Confers with company management to identify, plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency, which includes the coordination of data processing functions between the division and other company or Corporate Units.
Prepares (web-based) financial and statistical reports as required. Prepares audit documents and correspondence requested by auditors relating to aspects of assigned area.

Staff:
Experience in monthly close process, preparing/reviewing reconciliation's, journal entries and general ledger. Should be able to work with large volumes of data within excel.
Practical understanding of financial statements, accounting policies and procedures with a good understanding of GAAP..
Advanced computer skills: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Strong analytical business and accounting skills.
Intermediate to advanced account reconciliation's, analysis, and special projects as assigned by management.
Assist management in gathering detail to support financial analysis.
Direct contact with general accounting staff, lease administration, corporate department managers and directors, and outside consultants and attorneys.
Senior:
Research and implement new accounting methodologies/pronouncements through coordination with business owners, External Reporting, and divisional finance. Perform complex account analysis.
Supervisor:
Responsibilities will also include areas of Property Accounting such as: Rent, real estate taxes, common area maintenance, property insurance, utilities and repair and maintenance. Supervision of property accounting staff and review of monthly journal entries and approval of account reconciliations. Should have a strong understanding and knowledge of GAAP areas related to lease accounting.
Account reconciliation review and preparation of complex journal entries
Analyzing property expenditures and fixed asset details comparing to budget amounts.
Participate in major large scale global projects,
Preparation of audit documents and correspondences.
Review and analyze the areas of the financial statements that related to Property Accounting to ensure accuracy of information.
Advanced skills in PC based financial applications: SQL, Excel, Access, Essbase, General Ledger systems, Fixed Asset systems, Intranet tools.
Sound understanding of operating processes, business sub-ledgers and product costing methods.
Strong problem solving and analytical business and accounting skills
Strong understanding of accounting policies and procedures
Solid understanding of GAAP and advanced understanding of financial statements
Excellent organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills, and advanced modeling skills.
Demonstrated ability to produce timely and accurate research on complex issues while managing deadlines and multiple tasks.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or related work experience.
Three to ten years of related work experience depending upon position
Staff Accountant:
Strong skills in preparation of reconciliation's, monthly close process, journal entries, general ledger use.
Good understanding of GAAP.
Senior Accountant:
Strong background of ERP financial accounting systems.
Proficiency with Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Supervisor:
Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.
CPA or MBA preferred.
Proficiency with PC Based financial applications (Integral, Essbase, ODIS, PeopleSoft).
Ability to evaluate and write accounting policies and procedures.
Advanced experience with mainframe software.
Experience in leading staff and project management.
Ability to create complex spreadsheets and work with relational databases.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial processes.
Advanced knowledge with monthly close process and preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger.
Knowledgeable in preparation of internal financial statements.
Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial data.
