Staff / Cost Accountant

OBJECTIVE: Conducts analytical and objective studies in support of sales/marketing and manufacturing departments to determine costs of business activity.

DUTIES:

· Reconciles the inventory to the general ledger.

· Analyzes purchase price variance properly adjusts inventory reserve for over/under valued products.

· Breaks out material, labor and overhead for product list.

· Analyzes labor and overhead variances.

· Compiles material, labor and overhead numbers for the budget and forecasting.

· Sets labor and overhead rates.

· Participates as a product profitability team member and attends all meetings.

· Provides production reports, reporting actual to standard and variance

· Verifies that parts and costs have been updated properly.

· Maintains a good working knowledge of the manufacturing process trough monthly tours of the production area.

· Performs other duties at or above the same skill level at the discretion of the supervisor.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four (4) year college or university in accounting with three (3) to five (5) years of experience or eight (8) plus years experience in the accounting field.see above
