Staff Accountant - SAP - Contract to Hire

Our client, located in the Galleria area, is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to add to their team on a temp-to-hire basis.
Responsibilities:
' Responsible for routine transaction processing & standard reporting
' Assist in performing balance sheet account reconciliation & preparation of associated balance sheet notes
' Process inter-company, inventory, fixed asset or other transactions as required.
' Assist in preparing general ledger entries including prepaids, accruals, allocations, etc.
' Perform all month-end close & reporting duties. This position will be very focused on meeting accounting calendar deadlines on a monthly basis
' Understand, review, implement & comply with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
' Ensure that revenue recognition criteria are met
' Ensure outstanding purchase orders are kept currentRequirements:
' Education ' Accounting or Finance Degree - Minimum of 3.0 GPA
' SAP system ' preferred' Can handle projects of medium complexity
' Creative and innovative in providing quality solutions, analytical & solution oriented
' Standard oral and written communication skills: This position requires frequent interaction with peer groups, subordinates and senior management advising on area of responsibility.For consideration, please apply online.
