We have an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant II in our Investment Accounting Department!

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

BS/BA Accounting/Finance

Basic accounting and securities knowledge

Team player

Computer knowledge – Excel/Work or comparable experience, i.e., Lotus

Ability to learn new computer systems, i.e., CPORT, CIS, etc.

Phone etiquette

Overall interpersonal/communication skills

Flexibility/ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (overtime required during peak work volume)

Technical /Workflows


Responsible for the overall daily accounting, performance and periodic reporting for 18-25 institutional separate accounts.

Daily accounting responsibilities include the following:

Review accounts for overdrafts and other abnormalities, and notify Supervisor and Portfolio Manager.

Review bank statements and or automated cash reconciliations to identify and post cash flows.

Perform daily and monthly currency/hedge reconciliations

Verify daily margin movement and prepare wire letters

Reconcile Futures and Swap positions with custodian

Complete reconciliations and post entries as necessary.

Prepare calculation of investable cash and three-day cash projection (if applicable).

Interact daily with custodian banks, Trade Settlements, and Cash Reconciliation Group to aid in the research and resolution of issues.

Review account performance. Identify and research unusual movement.

Prepare month-end cash and asset reconciliations by the required deadlines. Complete month end package/reports. Research and resolve all discrepancies. Elevate material items to Supervisor.

Prepare special reports or reconciliations for clients as needed by the required deadlines.

Other responsibilities include the following:


Perform self-development
Interact with portfolio managers, custodian representatives, Investment Accounting Systems Group, and other groups within Delaware Investments as required.

Assist others or participate in assigned projects as deemed necessary.
