The Staff Accountant, II is an intermediate level position with responsibilities for providing support with account reconciliation and performing routine and complex transactions. These duties will be performed in various financial departments as well as specialty areas such Retail & Property Accounting. Position Responsibilities

Prepares journal entries for assigned areas. Verifies the accuracy of information ensuring data is correctly entered into the Company's financial records. Responds to questions and inquiries from internal and/or external customers. Recommends resolutions to issues and resolves with customer. Identifies erroneous entries and recommends corrections. Processes appropriate charge backs or corrections. Maintains documentation. Analyzes accounts at month end and takes appropriate actions to resolve outstanding items. Prepares daily, monthly, quarterly and annual summaries for input to various business partners. Examines and analyzes reports for accuracy and ensures all data is completed. Ensures all entries comply with corporate standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferredPrevious accounting experience typically achieved with a minimum of one year in public accounting or in a corporate environmentDemonstrated ability to apply GAAP to OfficeMax practicesPrevious experience with SAP helpfulDeveloped organizational skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writingExtensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel and Word.
