Staff Accountant- Grain

We're Bartlett and Company, a financially strong, family owned, independent agribusiness with operations in 10 states. This position is located at our corporate offices at the Kansas City Board of Trade on the Country Club Plaza.

We’re seeking a person to be a leading component of our grain accounting department. A Staff Accountant must handle various duties for the Financial Accounting department. The Staff Accountant will have a variety of daily and monthly responsibilities which might include monthly bushel reconciliations, storage reconciliations, and responsibilities which contribute to the production of monthly financial settlements.

REQUIREMENTS
Accounting degree a must, previous accounting experience a plus.
A Staff Accountant must:
· Reconcile commodity gross profit
· Prepare monthly quantity reconciliations
· Prepare monthly allocation journal entries such as telephone, supplies, insurance, benefits, rent, utilities, etc.
· Prepare monthly intercompany journal entries such as interest, storage, terminal operations allocations
· Assist during month-end closing procedures in any needed capacity
· Have the knowledge of data entry, 10-key, and spreadsheet software
· Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
· Prepare and file use tax returns, sales tax returns, and/or grain tax returns
· Review and verify daily accounts
