Staff Accountant Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Manufacturing company in Astoria / Queens , NY seeks an experienced Staff Accountant A/P & A/R.
This position reports directly to the Controller.
Job Description:
Accounts Receivable Processing
Daily application of cash receipts for existing A/R balancesBilling and collection calls to customers regarding any past due invoicesTroubleshoot and research disputes on customer accounts while providing customer serviceAssist customers that call in regarding their account status and billingAccounts Payable Processing
Enter/Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving packing list/invoices.
Process check requests, including coding vendor number and general ledger account numbers on invoices.
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying vendor information; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, receiving, invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation.
Maintains vendor files.Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Selects account payable invoices for payment based on vendor terms.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will possess:
3 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
College degree in AccountingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComputer literate ( Excel, MS Office)
Excellent organizational/administrative skills with exceptional attention-to-detailEnergetic attitude and willingness to grow and evolve in this fast-paced hi-tech companyAbility to build and maintain successful relationships with customers and employeesPrior experience with Epicor/ Vantage accounting software and/or other ERP systems a plusMust be able to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision/review
