Sr. IT Analyst, Business Analysis - IT Financial Operations

Responsibilities:
Symetra is looking for a Sr. IT Business Analyst who can apply the full System Development Lifecycle to guide project work and gather business requirements using advanced analysis skills. Working with business partners, this individual will interpret and assist in developing business requirements, prototypes, procedures, workflow and processes in conjunction with automated solutions. This individual will be looked to for strong leadership within her/his IT team and with her/his business partners. As a senior member of the Financial Systems IT support team, this individual will provide mentoring, personal development of less-experienced team members, prioritization of assignments, and review and critique of work. Leadership skills will be evidenced by the candidate's ability to work under strict, aggressive timelines, and by her/his willingness to do 'whatever it takes' to meet a committed deadline. This individual will work with team members and business partners to ensure solutions are in line with documented technical and change management guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience with the System Development Lifecycle and the documentation that compliments it Experience with prototyping, reporting and query tools Experience with multiple platforms including mainframe, client/server and web Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong questioning and listening skills and ability to look beyond obvious answers and understand the impact on other areas Experience with Business Analysis as a discipline, including formal training in business requirements development and business process improvement Preference may be given to candidates who have the following: MBA or demonstrated work to other advanced degree Extensive background and experience with delivering successful technology projects In-depth experience in insurance and financial services industry Comments: Experience with Hyperion, reporting and data analytics is a plus.
