The Senior Accountant's job is to plan, organize, prioritize and control the work (service) related to his/her assignment of accounts in order to accomplish the Accounting Department's mission.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Ensure Excellent Customer Service: Support an environment that places customer service as the #1 priority, assist in establishing standards and procedures to meet customer requirements and expectations, establish controls to monitor progress of customer service on a company level, assist manager in ensuring that all priorities are handled in a timely fashion, monitor account and cash processing on a company level to ensure timely reporting and flow of funds, make certain unallocated cash over thirty days is well documented, make collection calls to facilitate the procurement of funds, assist staff with difficult customer issues and handle any complex issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution of problems, respond to all customer inquiries, phone calls, faxes, etc. in the same day received or within 24 hours in a professional manner, and periodically travel to customer offices or arrange for their visits to Aon Re to improve on relationships and resolve pending accounting issues. Achieve Operational Effectiveness: Assume managerial role in the Account Manager's/Senior Analyst's absence, assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of departmental goals and policies and procedures manuals, attend and contribute to team meetings to communicate business/customer information, ensure that committed objectives are attained in an accurate and timely manner through control of priorities and effective management of resources, review financial, statistical and operational reports to ensure proper recognition of brokerage revenue, assist with the development of systems and identification of system needs to improve overall work efficiency and expand use of technology. Communicate Information: Compose professionally written correspondence such as memos, faxes, inquiries and letters for internal and external sources, communicate regularly, or as needed, with customers to enhance relationships and convey statuses, and keep management informed of any accounting any accounting and client problems so they become involved on a timely basis. Perform Other Responsibilities as Assigned: Including overtime when necessary, responsible for the more involved accounts where clients may need our input and knowledge, work with Senior Analyst and Account Managers on Agreement review and input, responsible for the most difficult, complex or demanding clients, and assist in Letters of Credit analysis for those clients assigned to you
Job Requirements
6 - 7 years Reinsurance Accounting experience. Strong communication skills.
