Sr. Accountant - Internal Reporting

Purpose:
Our client, a large and reputable Fortune 40 company, is looking for a talented Sr. Accountant to join their team in Reston.

Responsibilities:
-Strong analytical and accounting theory skills are a must.
-Prepare variance analysis of actual vs. budget for several departments related to all expenses.
-A qualified candidate should have a basic understanding of the Black Scholes fair value schedule and how it works.
-Responsible for accounting for stock awards in accordance with SFAS123R.
-Position may include extensive work with Debt, Equity, and Investments.
-This position requires a person that is very detailed oriented, a quick learner, and requires little supervision.
-We are looking for an analytical, self-motivated, hard-working, self-starter for this fast-paced group.
-This position does require overtime on a monthly basis and especially during quarter-end and year-end close.
-An Advanced Microsoft Excel skill set is a requirement for this position and Microsoft Access and Business Objects is a plus.
-The position functions and responsibilities are subject to change as the company reaches its synergy targets.

Qualifications/Experience:
-BS/BA degree in Accounting preferred.
-Minimum of 4-5 years experience with extensive Microsoft Excel spreadsheet knowledge and a combination of relevant Public or Corporate accounting.
-JE & reconciliation preparation, and financial analysis experience.
-Good verbal and written communications skills.
-Ability to effectively utilize various software tools, ex. Excel, Access, and Business Objects in conjunction with large amounts of data in support of job performance including analysis and problem solving.
-Team player that has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of management in a non-technical manner.
-Working knowledge of applicable accounting promulgations.
-Responsible for the timely and thorough research of technical accounting issues related to position.

Compensation:
Targeting 50-65K + bonus. Excellent benefits.
