Job Description:

Our offices are located in downtown Chicago and convenient to both city and suburban public transportation.

* Key responsibilities involve the accounting and reporting of variances, period costs, and inventories on a periodic basis.

* This role requires regular communication with plant, Plaza Supply Chain Finance personnel to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reported results

* The incumbent will serve as the "controller" for various co-packers and have responsibility for daily and period-end accounting.

* The incumbent will also actively participate in OneUp activities.

* This role will help the incumbent develop a strong understanding of product costing and QTG systems and build strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

* Prepare selected variance, period cost, and inventory work papers during the Cost Accounting period close, reconciling field-reported variances and period costs to general ledger reporting

* Prepare and coordinate various work papers and reports for annual tax packages and government reporting

* Perform periodic reconciliations of Balance Sheet Accounts
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:

* Two to three years of accounting experience, preferably including some operations accounting

* Familiarity and experience with accounting transaction systems (general ledger, inventory systems, standard costs systems, etc)

* Strong results orientation and problem solving skills

* Advanced excel capabilities, access skills preferred but not required

* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to lead and influence others

* Ability to operate effectively as a part of a large team-based environment

Bachelor
