Sr. Accountant-Financial Reporting

Firm in Downtown Dallas is looking for a Senior Accountant.The Accounting department is responsible for paying commissions to brokers andcorrespondents, issuing payroll and expense checks, and preparing financialstatements.We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Accountant-Financial Reporting tosupport and compliment our current Financial Reporting manager. The ideal candidatemust have prior knowledge and some exposure to SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxleyguidelines, accounting research and Section 404 implementation. ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of the annual, quarterly and periodic reports submitted to theSEC;
Prepare the annual and quarterly reports to be filed with the Office of Thrift andSupervision;
Assist in the preparation of the annual and quarterly earnings release;
Prepare surveys and information requests received throughout the year;
Responsible for the on-going maintenance of Section 404 documentation;
Assist in the research and implementation of accounting issues;
Reconcile and maintain information on stock options and restricted stock grants.Prepare journal entries, as needed. Keep up with the compensation expense issue?beable to assist in the implementation of and new rulings if the recognition ofcompensation expense for stock options becomes mandatory;
Perform other activities as requested.Job Requirements
?Undergraduate degree in accounting is required, Certified Public Accountant is desired;
Three or more years experience in public reporting and or with the "Big 4;"
Confidence and professional competence necessary to represent the departmentwithmanagement;
Flexible with a strong work ethic;
Solid oral, written and interpersonal communication skills;
Good analytical skills;
Must be a self-starter and self-directed team player;
Computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint andOutlook are a must. Use of Computron & Everest a plus.
