Sourcing /Purchasing Analyst

Position Purpose:

Follett's five businesses have traditionally purchased goods and services independently of each other. In this new role, the sourcing business analyst will support efforts to reduce costs by leveraging Follett's total company spend and sourcing as one Follett company. The Sourcing Business Analyst will play an important role collecting and analyzing information across all businesses, developing ideas to reduce cost, interfacing with suppliers, and calculating savings.
The position reports to the Vice President Sourcing and will interact with Follett associates at all levels of the organization and across all businesses. The Sourcing Business Analyst will respond to inquiries in a timely manner from corporate and divisional associates insuring that the data provided to them is accurate, complete and timely. The analyst will adhere to the Follett Code of Conduct, live the Follett Values and comply with all ethical standards and policies of Follett Corporation.

Responsibilities:
Collect, analyze and report Follett Corporation spend and savings data.

Extract supplier spend data from Follett Corporation's accounting systems and categorize data by spending category.

Report category spend and savings information on a company-wide basis as well as a business unit basis.

Develop and maintain quarterly report showing overall company spend profile by category.

Work with various members of sourcing project teams.

Provide analytical support, including detailed analysis of volumes and quantities of items purchased within a category.

Work with suppliers as necessary to collect line item details.

Calculate savings generated by sourcing project teams on an ongoing basis.

Provide input into the information and system requirements for corporate purchasing system, T&E system and other systems related to procurement activities.

Work closely with the VP Sourcing on business case development of these initiatives.

Prepare management reports and presentation materials for senior management.

Develop and calculate metrics to measure the progress and trends in spend categories.

Develop supplier scorecards that measure supplier performance.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Able to collect, integrate and analyze data and information by leveraging appropriate PC systems technology and engaging stakeholders.

Ability to interpret and understand level of detail and analysis required for Follett Corporation to make business decisions

Advanced skills in Excel, Access and PowerPoint required.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Project management experience is a plus.

Flexible and adaptive working style is important along with ability to think creatively and identify business opportunities.

Knowledge of Lawson is preferred.

Bachelors degree with focus in accounting, business, computer science or math a plus.
