Server Consolidation Lead

(NYSE-BE) is one of the world's largest business consulting and systems integration firms dedicated to aligning business and systems to empower Global 2000 companies and government organizations.BearingPoint Public Services is currently searching for experienced IT Infrastructure candidates.Preference will be given to candidates local to our McLean office.The candidate for this position must be highly knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the IT Infrastructure and data center operations. The candidate has expert knowledge and demonstrated experience designing, implementing and analyzing large-scale client/server environments with a focus on maintaining reliability, performance and scalability, security, robustness. This expertise will be accompanied by broad knowledge in other technical areas (e.g. networking, databases, etc.).Responsibilities include:

Provide input to systems architecture and identify applicable technical standards for interoperability and integration for a variety of platforms / OS

Serve as a resource for researching and recommending commercially available technologies and solutions.

Serve as technical lead for IT infrastructure migration / consolidation projects

Execute project management tasks including project planning, defining resource requirements, and managing projects to completion based on criteria of time, cost and qualityRequirements:

Ten-years experience with IT Operations and / or client systems support.

Five-years experience with data center operations or server consolidation

Three years experience in server hardware and software systems engineering, with experience in deployment of enterprise server architecture design

Experience with the following:
oDeveloping and implementing server management and support processes.
oBusiness Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plans.
oPerformance tuning, troubleshooting and debugging complex, enterprise-class software.

Experience in the design and implementation of Directory based applications and knowledge of Active Directory is highly desirable.

Understanding of database design experience in SQL, ORACLE and others

Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2000/2003 and SUN OS based development is required.
Other Skills:

Experienced with DoD Server Acquisition / Sourcing processes.

DoD / Navy NMCI networking and server experience or background is a plus.
