The Senior Technology Auditor will perform audits and consult with management in all areas of Fannie Mae with an emphasis on Enterprise Systems and Operations, and the Enterprise Systems Management group, which supports technology infrastructure. This individual will Participate in or lead selected audit assignments and occasionally work as a team member on other special projects.
He/she will work cooperatively with audit customers and colleagues in a rapidly changing environment, and will perform other duties as assigned. He/she will identify risks and controls for business processes and technical infrastructure systems, as well as corporate systems development initiatives.
He/she will assist in the development and maintenance of risk-based audit plans. He/she will evaluate the effectiveness of controls over information systems, document work performed, and report conclusions and recommendations to management. He/she will also provide expertise to Audit and client management regarding the control environment for both new and existing systems and projects.
He/she will advise business audit teams on ways to test controls using data extraction and analysis techniques. He/she will coordinate the development and monitoring of key risk indicator information for senior management, and proactively inform senior management of positive and negative trends.
He/she will evaluate management control self-assessment activities, perform review and testing of controls to determine IT compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and perform review of external parties as necessary. REQUIREMENTS
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a candidate with the following attributes: information seeker, analytical, possesses sound judgment, self-confident, self-motivated, persistent, results-oriented and enthusiastic. Will exhibit working knowledge of information systems technology infrastructure, technical skills, data analysis and retrieval techniques, and business processes.
An undergraduate degree with a concentration in information systems preferred. Advanced degree is a plus. Five to seven years of information systems audit experience or a combination of diversified information systems and audit experience. Working knowledge of auditing, accounting and finance. Experience in client/server environment necessary, Unix based exposure preferred.
Exposure to a variety of technical platforms preferred, such as operating systems, databases, networks, firewall systems, web services, security, etc. Experience in the use of audit software, database retrieval languages, and spreadsheets to extract, manipulate, and interpret data from various sources. Experience with report writing and data extraction using SAS, ACL, SQL, Microsoft Access, Excel, Crystal Reports, Focus or other report writing tools.
Excellent project management, analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as initiative and teamwork. Professional certification (i.e. CPA, CIA, or CISA) preferred.
