Senior Project Accountant - Real Estate Development

Located in Dallas, TX and founded in 1981, the Skorburg Company is a growing and dynamic real estate Land Development firm committed to being a leader in the development industry.

The Skorburg Company currently has 18 active development projects. We have 11 employees but our goal is to move to 24 active projects and 18 employees in the next 12 months.

The ideal candidate would have experience as a Full-Charge Bookkeeper and be familiar with GAAP Accounting. They should be organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. They should have strong analytical skills; possess good reasoning and good communications skills. Real estate or construction accounting background is a plus.

Functions are as follows but not limited to:
Handle accounts payable for construction projects
Review construction budget payments with Engineer
Compile information and documents for check signing
Coordinate Monthly Project Construction Draws with Lender
Prepare Interest Savings Projection
Create financial worksheets to be utilized by Management
Assist Engineer & Project Manager with Review of Monthly Project Reporting
Prepare Monthly Budget to Actual Analysis
Assist Director of Corporate Finance with Investor Reporting
Assist Project Manager in Maintenance of Property Tax reserves and Ag-tax exemptions; reconcile property tax reimbursements
Assist Project Manager with the accounting review of all HOA (Homeowner Association) quarterly reporting and budgets
Monthly Project Bank Reconciliation
Monthly Project General Ledger maintenance
Coordinate Construction Lien Waivers
Coordinate Insurance Administration on Projects and Subcontractors
Daily Deposits
Prepare General Journal Entries
Filing; Ad hoc projects
REQUIREMENTS
Qualities/Requirements:
College Accounting
5+ years of bookkeeping experience
Proficient in QuickBooks; Excel; Word
Be able to communicate with contractors/insurance agents/bankers
People Skills/Communication
