Senior Payroll Product Analyst

The individual who fills this opening will analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations as well as analyze Vertex’s partner/user requirements and problems as it relates to payroll tax calculations. You may work with our technical staff on functional aspects for design changes and will serve as a tax expert to both internal and external customers by answering and providing guidance on tax calculations. In addition you will serve as a domain specialist for system specifications.
REQUIREMENTS
A qualified applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting or equivalent work experience. In addition they will have a minimum of 5+ years experience in a multi-state and Canadian payroll tax compliance environment as well as the functionality and design of these payroll systems. Participation in payroll associations, APA (American Payroll Association), IPT (Institute for Professionals in Taxation) and/or FTA (Federation of Tax Administrators) is preferred.They must have strong communications and interpersonal skills; an aptitude for detail with excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines along with strong is a must.Intermediate knowledge of Windows-based software applications including MS Office and advanced Excel skills and the ability to use Access. Is a must.
