Senior Operations Analyst - Medicare

JOB SUMMARY:
The position will be responsible for comprehensive analysis (operational, analytical and financial), scoping of resources, documentation, problem solving, and implementation of key initiatives and processes related to the expansion of AMERIGROUP’s Medicare Advantage products. This position will report to the COO, Senior Services, but provide direct support to each member of the Senior Services leadership team (CEO, VP, Health Delivery Systems, Chief Medical Officer, VP, Sales and Marketing and VP, Policy and Product Development). Project work typically relates to business process design, policy and procedure development, systems and data analysis, and project management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assist in each phase of development as it relates to network strategy, sales and marketing strategy and business model development.
2.Perform financial and business analysis; cost-benefit and ROI studies; activity-based cost and project evaluation.
3.Perform best practices research on managed business strategies, products, technologies and competitors.
4.Participate in business planning process and assist with medical costs, administrative costs and revenue projections.
5.Provide analytical support to executive team related to modeling financial impact of business model and product proposals.
6.Work cross-functionally to develop and implement Senior Services Organization (SSO) reporting package.
7.Handle special projects such as market research, competitive analyses and SWOT analysis.
8.Work with internal and external stakeholders of the SSO to resolve issues.
9.Identify opportunities for business process enhancements.
10.Research performance measurement fluctuations and propose adjustments to the SSO senior management.
11.Prepare operational and financial reports senior management based on source data / information supplied by Medical Finance and Management Analysis and Reporting.
12.Develop policies and procedures regarding various processes within the organization as required by management.
13.Perform training and development of new department analysts and provide assistance and support as needed.
14.Comprise and analyze data.
15.Compare key operating metrics
16.Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process.
17.Evaluate membership, prior growth trends, project growth and revenue data.
18.Work with various departments to share and analyze information.
19.Conduct ad-hoc analyses as assigned.
20.Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education
Required: BA or BS degree
Preferred: Emphasis on finance, accounting, economics, or information systems
Years and Type of Experience
Required: 5-7 years experience in a professional organization
Preferred: 1-3 years managed healthcare experience preferred

•Knowledge of healthcare related cost and financial management, process improvement, and environment issues facing hospitals, managed healthcare, or clinical healthcare research

•Demonstrate good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
•Detailed oriented.
•The ability to communicate complex analysis to senior management in a succinct and productive manner.
