Senior International Finance Analyst

The Senior International Finance Analyst is a new position designed to support Borders' growing international presence. Borders now operates stores in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and the UK with new stores opening soon in Ireland and the United Arab Emirates. This position is a high-profile role, reporting directly to the Director of International Finance.
Ensure that Borders International complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Borders accounting policiesReview, assess, and document accounting policy for international business units Responsible for accounting policy updates for changes in accounting guidanceCoordinate annual filings of statutory financial statements for the Company’s international business unitsResponsible for development and maintenance of account reconciliation process Partner with International Finance and local finance teams to ensure all account reconciliation procedures comply with corporate guidelines and GAAPLead monthly balance sheet review of accounts and reconciliationsPartner with internal audit to complete international business unit review and documentation of internal controlsPrepare various monthly consolidated reports (both quantitative and qualitative in nature)Ad hoc analysis and reporting
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and/or equivalent work experience
CPA certificate requiredTwo years of public reporting experience required and two years related corporate accounting experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with Financial Statement form and preparationFamiliarity with GAAP and SEC disclosure requirementsDetailed-orientated, with strong organizational and documentation skills
