Senior Healthcare Data Analyst

You have extensive knowledge of managed care and health care claims data

You have a well-developed understanding of the health care industry and an in-depth understanding of the methods of data analysis.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

•Analyze data and trends and create reports that highlight areas for improvement
•Create new databases and new reporting formats as the business needs demand
•Analyze operations to identify opportunities to enhance productivity
•Maintain key databases and generate the routine and ad hoc reports
•Prepare graphic representations of results and make presentations to management and others as needed
•Research, analyze and interpret statistical data and provide technical assistance to other departments
•Identify issues to be researched, determine affected areas, estimate the impact and lead the resolution
•Team lead for specific employer accounts, for the analysis of group-specific data
1.Delivers presentations to accounts senior management
2.Works with senior positions or management to understand and interpret the financial impact of decisions made by retrieving and analyzing claim costs, revenue and/or other relevant data
3.Independently manages the retrieval and analysis of data on multiple tasks or projects with little or no management involvement
4.Acts as a resource for other members of the department/division on business issues and may be responsible for training and guidance of other employees
REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Social Sciences, Statistics or related field AND 3 years of relevant experience
oOR Equivalent combination of education and experience
oMasters degree preferred
•Minimum additional 2 years experience analyzing and modeling clinical data
oExperience involving outcomes and utilization preferred
oPreferred statistical software and computer programming: SAS, Visual Basic, DB2, Oracle, etc.
•Extensive working knowledge of clinical data quality measurements in a health plan setting
oKnowledge of HEDIS specification and Pay-for-Performance concepts preferred
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access.
•Demonstrated ability to design, evaluate and interpret complex data sets
•Strong analytic and problem solving skills
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to interpret and communicate analytical information to both individuals and groups in a clear and concise manner
•Demonstrated ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences and senior decision-makers
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting with individuals having diverse professional backgrounds including business, technical and/or clinical.
