Senior Fund Administrator

Job Summary:



The associate is responsible for the fund accounting for Registered Hedge Funds and the financial reporting. For those funds organized as a partnership, the associate will also be responsible for the partnership accounting. For those funds registered under the Securities Exchange Act of 1933 and / or the Investment Company Act of 1940, the associate will be responsible for some regulatory compliance and filing.



Job Duties:

Daily Activities: reconcile cash, security positions and payables & receivables with the funds"&tm; banks, custodians and brokers.

Monthly Activities: accumulate and summarize portfolio activity from the funds"&tm; banks, custodians and brokers.

Accumulate and summarize investor activity from the funds"&tm; transfer agent.

Prepare expense budget analysis and perform expense calculations.

Perform accounting reconciliations between multiple parties and analyze differences.

Prepare unaudited financial statements.

Determine the value of the funds and allocate that value to each investor.

Calculate the funds"&tm; performance.

Coordinate the preparation and distribution of each investor"&tm;s monthly capital statement.

Prepare and distribute other recurring and ad hoc monthly reports to internal and external parties.

Annual Activities

Assist in the annual audit.

Prepare the annual financial statements.

Assist in the preparation of year-end tax reporting for individual investors.

Other

Work with and assist other associates in meeting common goals.

Self-development initiative.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS:



§Comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting "" income statement and balance sheet implications

§Ability to perform more complex reconciliations

§Thorough understanding of alternative investment structures (hedge funds, venture capital funds, swap/exchange funds, fund of funds and master/feeder funds) to service funds properly.

§Organizational, time management, analytical, administrative as well as supervisory skills

§Proactive approach to problem solving



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



§A minimum of two years industry experience is required.

§Bachelor"&tm;s degree in Business preferably majoring in Accounting or another Financial-related program.

§A professional designation such as C.A., C.P.A., C.M.A., or C.F.A. would be an asset.

§Previous work experience preferred but not required.



COMPUTER SKILLS:



§Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of Applications specifically MS Word & MS Excel.

§Proven ability with complex spreadsheet design and formatting

§Knowledge of fund accounting or investment accounting packages an asset.

§Familiarity IBM-compatible computers and basic business applications
