Senior Financial Reporting Manager

This position is located in the Davie, FL Corporate Office location and is responsible for GAAP and SEC reporting, technical research, stock and stock option accounting, and financial analysis of internal and competitor financial results.
Responsibilities:
--Participate in the preparation of consolidated GAAP financial statements on a monthly basis for internal management reporting.
--Participate in the drafting of the Forms, 10-K and 10-Q and the earnings release.
--Prepare, gather and maintain supporting documentation for all financial, operational and statistical data published in SEC filings, earnings releases, and various presentations to outside parties.
--Coordinate with other departments to obtain information needed to prepare SEC forms 10-K and 10-Q, in addition to press releases and analyst conference calls.
--Prepare earnings per share calculations.
--Prepare all stock-related financial statement footnotes.
--Participate in the preparation of the annual report and proxy statements for the annual shareholder meeting.
--Research and document technical accounting issues and make recommendations as to appropriate accounting treatments.
--Perform financial statement analyses, including trend and relational analyses, budget analysis and comparative benchmarking with key competitors.
--Account for activity relating to Company’s stock and stock options, including restricted stock.
--Reconcile number of outstanding shares of Company’s stock to transfer agent’s records.
--Reconcile stock option information to records of external stock option administrator and in-house Legal Department.
--Coordinate with and provide support to external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
--Verify/compile data for company presentations and external analysts.
REQUIREMENTS
Prerequisites:
Education
· Bachelors Degree in Accounting
· CPA designation
Experience & Skills
· 8+ years accounting experience.
· Accounting experience with publicly held companies
· Public accounting experience
· Accounting experience in the insurance industry
· Strong organizational and analytical skills
· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and SEC regulations
· Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
