Job Description:
Minimum BA or BS degree in finance or accounting with 3 - 5 years of progressive finance experience.

Ideally, this person will have CPG experience with good knowledge of financial planning and controlling, budget management and developing skills in forecasting and financial analysis. Additional knowledge of key customers, syndicated data, sales reporting systems and retail practices is preferred.

Candidate should have the ability to identify issues and formulate solutions. The need to work with field personnel and internal departments will require excellent interpersonal, influence and communication skills.

Located in our Plano Texas field location, qualified candidates will::

1) Play a support role in ensuring Business Area spending does not exceed budget. At the direction of the finance manager, help to provide checks and balances regarding account plan spending forecasts to ensure they are reasonable and within spending budgets.
Help to develop and consolidate Business Area sales projections in order to identify shortfalls and volume upside that will determine correct spending allocations.
Monitor account trade plan execution and identify potential budget issues in order to assist in spending management with each account.
Work with Finance Manager to help facilitate flow of information between Business Area and HQ departments regarding spending activity.

2) Work with Finance Manager in managing the deduction resolution process for the Business Area. Communicate with customer service in order to identify, report and provide background and analysis of deduction issues to help facilitate resolution by Business Area team.
Help Business Area team to determine reasons behind deductions and assist the customer and account handler in identifying solutions to prevent and / or resolve deductions.
Help to facilitate the deduction write-off process by working with Finance Manager, HQ Finance and Sales Finance in identifying write-offs and processing the resulting adjustments to customer trade funds in Siebel.

3) Help to provide oversight and compliance management for Siebel administration within the Business Area by closely monitoring Siebel reporting and work with Finance Manager to identify potential issues with the accuracy and timeliness of commitments and settlements. Notify Finance Manager and / or account team of potential issues. The objective is to ensure:
Account spending plans are maintained in the Siebel system in an accurate and timely manner.
Timely commitments for financial reporting by monitoring open commitments and making sure that “planned” events are committed during the month of an event.
Settlements are allocated on a timely basis and brand designations are recorded in an accurate manner.
Commitment amounts are adjusted upon settlement of trade events.

4) Work with Finance Manager to monitor trade fund spending for proper financial processes and adherence to company policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

5) Help to develop and consolidate Business Area sales projections in order to identify shortfalls and volume upside for use in Divisional forecasting process.

6) Work with Finance Manager and Business Area BDM and other team members to perform promotional spending analysis to ensure optimal return on investment of account level spending.

7) Responsible for monitoring and helping to manage Business Area cost center spending. Work with Finance manager to identify potential issues and alternative plans to maintain spending within budget and coordinate with Headquarter sales finance to maintain accurate and reasonable spending forecasts.

8) Review required HQ documents such as MER, CTP, POR etc… Verify that all information is provided in a complete and accurate manner. Follow up with responsible individuals and / or Finance manager.

9) Provide ad-hoc financial support to the Business Area Head and Finance Manager including business analysis, Headquarter reporting and other miscellaneous requests for data and information.
