Senior Family Practice Manager

Senior Practice Manager General Summary: Under general supervision, manages clinical, business office and other administrative functions of an ambulatory site which may consist of a large practice (Six or more physicians and/or physician extenders) or multiple practices, and ancillary services.
Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are essential job accountabilities:
- Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity, with other departments/service lines/entities, and with the System's primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).

- Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/System's performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).

- Acting as the ambulatory site coordinator, manages all on-site activities in such a way that promotes the satisfaction and welfare of the patients visiting the site.

The following are common expectations:

- Develops and prepares the annual budget for the practice(s). Responsible for monitoring expenditures at the facility, looking for cost containment opportunities by promoting efficient utilization of staff and services.

- Recommends staffing levels, selects and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.

- Works cooperatively with ancillary service managers and provides input into laboratory and imaging staff performance reviews where applicable.

- Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation, and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.

- Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.

- Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements.

- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

- Maintains professional growth and development.

- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

The following are nonessential job accountabilities for ADA purposes:

- Recommends sufficient space and other resources required by the department/service line/entity.

- Performs other related duties as identified.Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Note:Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Experience: 3 - 5 years

Physical Demands:
- Occasional prolonged standing/walking
- Occasionally lifts supplies/equipment

Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
- Subject to many interruptions
- Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
- May be exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases

Management Experience:
- Proven managerial skills
- Excellent human relations and oral/written communications skills
