Senior Associate, Tax Accounting Methods

We currently seek a Tax Senior Associate to join our Accounting Methods and Credits Services team in the Chicago office.KPMG's Federal Tax Services practice is a resource for clients that need help complying with the latest IRS rules and regulations. Our tax professionals who handle federal tax issues bring the experience and commitment necessary to deliver tax compliance and advisory services to help meet our clients' specific needs.Responsibilities:
Assist in supervising research tax credit projects, including leading client interviews, preparing memos and supporting documentation, preparing calculations, developing spreadsheets, and conducting technical research

Assist in supervising accounting method projects related to revenue and expense recognition, capitalized items, depreciation, fixed assets, and inventories

Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team on IRC 199 manufacturing deduction calculations

Draft opinion letters, responses to IRS inquiries, preparing Form 3115 applications for change in accounting method, and drafting other technical memoranda

Supervise staff on multiple projects in multiple offices

Project management including scheduling, staffing, meeting deadlines, analyzing financial statements, identifying technical issues, and working with KPMG professionals in Washington
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Three years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience

Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters in various industries

Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated project management skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university or a J.D. from an accredited college/university
