Position location: New York or Boston. We are seeking a senior-level actuary to join our Algo Risk for Insurance team. This team is responsible for extending Algorithmics’ industry leading Algo Risk solution to meet the specific needs of insurance companies. The candidate responsibilities will include: working with clients and prospects to gather and document business requirements, design and implement enterprise risk management solutions, speak at conferences, and pre-sales support.
Responsibilities Include:
Work with clients and prospects to gather and document business requirements.
Design solutions to address client business requirements.
Write technical specifications for R&D.
Become the Algorithmics expert on the economic capital calculations for insurance companies.
Become the Algorithmics expert on industry regulations and capital calculations for current requirements as well as future requirements (i.e. Solvency II).
Speak at conferences.
Provide pre-sales support as an expert on the risk management issues facing insurance companies.
Requirements Include:
Highly motivated and results-oriented; proven ability to generate business development ideas and strategy.
7+ years experience working in the insurance or related industries.
Knowledge of the insurance industry and the motivations for implementing enterprise risk management.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated analytical, actuarial, and financial engineering skills; experience in financial risk management a plus.
Team-oriented, with ability to effectively build relationships both externally and internally.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Ability to travel (25-30%).
Bachelors degree required; graduate degree preferred; CFA, FSA, MAAA or equivalent certification a plus.
Insurance industry experience is required.
