Senior Actuarial Analyst
Summary/Position Objectives:
This position works with other Schaller Anderson affiliates in providing operational and financial information and analyses as necessary. This position is responsible for providing management the financial information necessary to make decisions regarding the activities of the actuarial area, such as pricing, budgeting, reserving, contracting, and negotiations. This position gathers and analyzes financial and operational information, designs and develops spreadsheet models, and develops supporting written and oral presentations and reports. The position requires the application of financial principles, analytical skills, management skills, and good interpersonal communication.
Responsibilities:
Monthly IBNR reserve analysis and reporting.
Provider network reimbursement analysis.
Work with affiliate entities to procure necessary data and information.
Project management.
Design new and enhance existing spreadsheet models.
Prepare written reports and PowerPoint presentations.
Monitor industry trends and regulations pertaining to Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial health care.
Develop, establish, and maintain a work priority system to ensure daily workloads are fulfilled.

REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and Skills:
Incumbent must be able to: write correspondence and design spreadsheets; present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to organization employees, including company’s top management; and use advanced reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish fact, draw valid conclusions, and design, implement, and manage appropriate action plans. Incumbent must have advanced and meticulous organization and coordination skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Advanced skills in mathematical applications are necessary, many of which will be self-taught. Incumbent must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite functions, with emphasis on Excel, and common computer and office hardware.
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s of Science in finance, statistics, math, economics, or actuarial science required; experience in managed health care a plus. Incumbent preferred to have at least 5 years’ experience with health care actuarial or related work. Advanced interpersonal skills, maturity, and good judgment are required.
